Come enjoy the beauty of La Madera canyon. Help us unravel the mysteries and the history of the little rock house and the property. Your hosts Cindy Carson and Emilio Salvatierra will guide you through the day.
What: Field Trip to Historic Home in La Madera Canyon
When: Saturday, August 10th, 10am to 1pm
Where: Meet at 10am in lobby of Vista Grande Community Center, 15 La Madera Road
Sandia Park
Bring: Sturdy shoes, hat, sunscreen and your own picnic supplies (food, water, blanket to sit on/folding chair).
About the Field Trip: Meet at 10am in the lobby of the Vista Grande Community Center for an orientation before convoying up six miles to the site. We will tour the site, then gather on the lawn for a no-host picnic lunch.
About Our Guide: Cindy and Emilio Carson have long been active in New Mexico historical societies, including EMHS. Cindy creates professional photographs of historic sites and vintage automobiles, is involved with historic property reconstruction, and is inspired to share the history of her home up La Madera canyon.
